Project Description

Our soldiers are laid to rest on a grassy knoll not far from the sea. They were strong and brave defending our freedom. The architect chose the use of masonry for strength and durability. As you enter the cemetery there is a stone entrance made up of CMU, rough face lueders, limestone lueders & limestone. This particular vain of stone had a 20,000 pound compressive strength which made cutting a huge challenge.

The stone was used on radius walls, on columbarium, memorial wall, committal shelter and assembly areas. The stone brought about a natural beauty to a very solemn area. Our craftsmen set over 4,000 s/f of stone and another 1,800 pieces of cantera stone. The architect enhanced the landscape with columns, cups and special-shape cantera stone. This is low maintenance or I suppose you could say no maintenance walls with lasting beauty. My craftsmen were thrilled to set this material in a location American heroes are laid to rest. This is sustainable masonry at its best!
