Hanes Building

Prineville, OR

Masonry was chosen for this project to help the design fit into its setting. A timeless, classic quality was desired for the design, and the highly detailed brick façade brings this feel back to downtown Prineville. The use of native basalt in the project helps tie in with the other historic buildings in the area. The extension of the brick pilasters beyond the parapet provides a break to the skyline and defines the bay module. The playful arches, inset vertical windows and the use of secondary pilasters between the window arches are thoughtful uses of brick. The use of soldier courses, horizontal brick banding and the blending of brick colors along with a basalt base make this a complete building.
